Creating safe spaces for all students, staff, and faculty.
The Allies at Dalhousie exist to support students, staff, and faculty of the Rainbow community by encouraging the University to welcome and respect its diversity. The term "Rainbow" is used as an inclusive term for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, questioning, two-spirited, intersexed persons — indeed, the full spectrum of sexual and gender diversity.
Allies will work with students, staff, and faculty to provide programs, services, training, support, referral, and resources on Rainbow issues at Dalhousie.
Allies are registered with the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Youth Project's Ally Card Program. They are committed to providing positive and supportive listening and confidentiality to the members of the Dalhousie Rainbow community. However, the Ally Card Program is only one aspect of the work they do.
